Denis Sullivan

It took a village to build her

Denis Sullivan

Denis Sullivan was built through the help of professional shipwrights and over 1,000 volunteers. Though she is a replica of a 19th century great lakes schooner, Denis Sullivan is a modern tall ship. On top of modern navigation equipment, diesel engines and showers for her crew, she also houses a scientific laboratory and two computer workstations. Denis Sullivan offers multi-day and daily educational sails, where visitors learn about sailing, maritime history and the Great Lakes ecosystem. The schooner spends her winters down south, anchoring in Florida and the Bahamas.
