Denis Sullivan

It took a village to build her

Denis Sullivan

Denis Sullivan will be docked in Sherbourne Common.

Denis Sullivan was built through the help of professional shipwrights and over 1,000 volunteers. Though she is a replica of a 19th century great lakes schooner, Denis Sullivan is a modern tall ship. On top of modern navigation equipment, diesel engines and showers for her crew, she also houses a scientific laboratory and two computer workstations. Denis Sullivan offers multi-day and daily educational sails, where visitors learn about sailing, maritime history and the Great Lakes ecosystem. This summer will mark her second visit to Toronto. The schooner’s first time in the Six was back in 2010.
