Take part in an adventure we’ve had in the making since 1812.
Gather your crew, we’re going treasure hunting!
To us, the waterfront has always meant adventure. For centuries, it’s given young and old the opportunity to leave behind everyday life and sail off into the unknown, in search of fame, excitement, and yes, even a little treasure.
These days we don’t really call it ‘treasure hunting’ anymore. We call it ‘geocaching‘. Rest assured, the basics are exactly the same.
Our first mates here at the Wharf at York have scattered trinkets in treasure cache’s all around the lake. If you are close to any of the communities below, you should plan on taking part in the search:
- Elora
- Orangeville
- Caledon
- Brampton
- Niagara-on-the-Lake
- Buffalo
- AND MORE!
Collect them all!
Want to get in on the action? Log on to www.geocaching.com and look for our profile (TOwaterfrontfest), where we will be posting coordinates and hints for the hunt.
How it works:
Simply plug the listed coordinates into your GPS or GPS-enabled smartphone and (with a healthy sense of adventure from you and the crew) you can follow your map right to every one of our trinkets and treasures. Just be sure to bring along your most eagle-eyed crewmates. Our coordinates may take you to the treasure’s hiding place, but you will still need their help to spot it.
