Chill out lake side on the beach with the Maple Blues Vocalist of the Year [2011] Shakura S’Aida together with some of Canada’s best female folk and blues indie artists who present a dynamic series of acoustic sets (dockside aboard River Gambler), main stage workshops and showcase performances.

The Redpath Water Theatre – Lights, Water, Action!
For the first time ever, Toronto’s waterfront is the location for a unique water show. A beautiful fountain display by day becomes a multimedia water theatre at night. Presented in a spectacular choreography of images, lasers, fountains and music, ‘Cycle’ depicts a 3 act story of nature and the awakening of man through rock painting and the industrial revolution.

Cake Decorating Demonstration
Each day of the festival witness the creation of our beach and nautical inspired cakes. Members of the CSSA (Canadian Society of Sugar Artistry) will create a different cake each day, from start to finish. This would be a good chance to see how many different cake decorating techniques are done…from painting to piping, modeling to airbrushing.
Cake Tester Creation Workshop:
Come aboard Yankee Lady IV to “make and take” your very own cake tester. Learn how to make your choice of sugar dough adornments to attach to your own wooden cake skewer. Just a few of the fun beach and nautical themed adornments will be: fish, flip flop, ice-cream cone & light house.
The Talented Susan Trianos
Board member and award winning Cake Designer, Susan Trianos will head up a team of Canadian Society of Sugar Artistry members for workshops and demos. Susan has been a professional cake designer and sugar artist for 25 years. Her passion for all things sweet was discovered at the young age of 6 when she received an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas. Since her career started she has owned a renowned cake shop, worked for one of the most recognized cake decorating supply companies and one of the world’s largest food companies. Throughout her career, Susan has designed custom cake creations for private clients and corporations and has appeared on numerous television programs.
